Truma, here’s why we change heating system but stick with gas

December 18, 2023 – Living on a dated motorhome, routine maintenance – or even extraordinary maintenance, unfortunately – is not enough: after 18 years, on-board systems are not always repairable. That’s what happened with the Truma Trumatic E4000 heating system installed on Falkor, which for the past four years has for most of the time operated at full capacity, as befits an instrument serving a fulltimer.

At the gates of winter, the heater finally gave up, and after two radical attempts to solve the problem, I decided on a total replacement. And also to stay on a gas heating system without switching to diesel.

In this video I explain what the problem was, how I am going to solve it, and why I have stuck with a gas-based system. Which, incidentally, is a 3.7 kW Truma VarioHeat comfort. I owe heartfelt thanks to Truma for their concrete assistance in dealing with this breakdown and to Ferrario Camper in Milan for their patience and helpfulness over the past few weeks.

Enjoy the video!
