Fulltimer inside, we have found a home that looks like a motorhome!

October 3, 2021 – Play-pause, play-pause. We are now on break. Longer than expected, or at least than we would have liked. As we had already written in this post, since May we have had to stop to take care of ourselves. Nothing that could not be done even in a camper, in reality, but it is not that you have to be a full-timer at any cost: today we need some more comfort. And being able to do so, we decided to return to live within four concrete walls.

After all, when we left in 2019, we left a rented house and today we did nothing but find another one. It is not a decision that we consider final. As mentioned at the beginning, we consider ourselves “on break”, waiting for the physical forces to allow us to lead the nomadic life we aspire to without this wandering becoming a sacrifice. We are optimistic and we have the certainty that we will return to do so. Our time horizon, due to the experience we are having, takes us to the beginning of next year.

In the meantime, we will take the opportunity to fix a few things on our Falkor, starting with the suspensions. We will keep you updated on his conditions and our impressions when the works are completed.

A large window on the surrounding nature

In the meantime, you may have noticed it on the posts published on social media, even if the house is made of brick and concrete, we were inspired by what we have learned in the past (few) months of travel. And after having tasted the holiday homes that our friends have lent us in recent months (thanks Ornella, Massimo and Antonio!) We would not have borne to stop on the outskirts of a big city like Milan.

So, after a bit of research (and the classic stroke of luck) we found a small semi-independent flat on Lake Iseo that satisfies our basic idea: to have a huge window on the surrounding landscape that can stay without curtains during the day and night, without anyone being able to see inside. So, looking out we always seem to be immersed in nature. In Milan and its surroundings, it would not have been possible.

A home like a motorhome!

Then, ironically, we found a solution which is basically a studio, albeit very large and with a separate sleeping area. This makes us consider this house as a huge American motorhome with slide-out: far from our philosophy of “sixmeters”, but all in all not too far from our idea of living in an environment that is a bit like a small “nest”. The large terrace overlooking the lake is also a source of serenity and pleasure.

In short, understand us if the landscape will not change much in our posts! However, we will do everything possible to continue talking about compact motorhomes and everything that revolves around them. And as soon as we get back on the road, you will be the first to know!
